Character Information

General Appearance

A young girl who often dresses in a lacy purple dress with pink accents to it and faint embroidery. She appears to have a more natural appearance with little indication of any make-up usage.

Anatomy

Rapunzel is eighteen years old. Her height and weight are not mentioned, but she can easily be classified as having a petite, slender body type. She has fair skin with freckles, green eyes, and blond hair that is seventy feet long when natural, ten-feet long when braided. Her hair is shown to be quite strong since it can withstand pulling a whole human up a seventy-plus-foot tower with ease and without causing Rapunzel pain or strain to her scalp.

Physiology

Rapunzel was born with the magic of the sun-touched golden flower within her. Originally the flower was shown to restore the youth of Mother Goethel, but later it was used to help heal the terminally-ill queen which proves that its power lies in giving someone back something lost.  In Mother Goethel's case it was her youth; in the queen's case it was her health.  After the queen drank medicine made from the flower her daughter, Rapunzel, was infused with the same power which is activated through her hair. It could be argued, however, that her hair may simply be a medium which the power may be transferred by since she was able to bring Flynn back to life after a single shed tear touched his cheek.  There has not been any evidence citing any future healing she's done through the golden flower's power.

Other than this, she doesn't posses any other extraordinary powers. However, she is very nimble and can accomplish acrobatic feats with the aide of her hair as evidenced by how she could use her hair as impromptu rope and swing around and around a tree or balance with it to paint a high wall. She must posses some degree of superior strength too to be able to run about in an unencumbered manner with so many pounds of hair behind her and to be able to tug Mother Goethel up the tower with ease using only her hair and bare strength.

Woman of many talents

Being cooped up in a single tower all her life, Rapunzel has developed many hobbies and interests to fill up her day. She has stated that her morning routine included painting, playing a guitar, knitting, cooking, making paper mache masks, practicing ballet and chess, making pottery, practicing ventriloquy, making candles, sketching, exercising, and sewing. She appears to also be interested in intellectual hobbies too as evidenced by her recreational books being on the topics of botany, geology, and cooking, as well as how she observed and charted a detailed chart of stars on one of the walls. While she enjoys that great variety of hobbies, art seems to be her most favorite as shown by how she had painted virtually every inch of the tower's interior walls.

Behavior

Having been confined to the tower all her life with only Mother Goethel to interact with, Rapunzel grew up rather naive to the rest of the world. As such, her behavior can be described as childlike in the sense that she is very pure in both her intentions and actions. One strong evidence for this case was how she kept insisting that once she made a promise, she never, ever goes back on it. Having a limited sphere of knowledge at her fingertips, she also possesses a great deal of curiosity which is the initial factor that spurs her desire to see the floating lanterns up close in the first place. Her strong sense of determination was shown with how she continued to pursue viewing the lanterns despite her fears of the world outside (not to mention standing up to a whole pub full of thugs when they threatened taking her guide from her), yet her loyalty was also shown with how she ventured out with only the lanterns as her goal with full intentions of returning to her tower after her curiosity had been satiated. Her emotions can be read very easily and, at times, they are expressed far more strongly than a normal person's since she really had no reason to learn how to hide them. While one may think them exaggerated, she's only being honest! Her childlike behavior might be the reason too why she has a slightly hard time comprehending sarcasm even though it can be assumed that she had to endure Mother Goethel's all her life.

Generally, she's very cheerful, friendly, and leaning towards the girly side. Once she got used to the idea that people outside were not scary or were out to hurt her, she did not hesitate to interact with them, even going so far as to pull them in to join her in a dance. She gets along well with animals too, even having one as a best friend--a chameleon named Pascal.

Random Facts

Rapunzel's favorite food is hazelnut soup.

Her hair can be used as impromptu rope, scaffolding, a method to bind someone, and a whip to grab objects from a set distance away.

She trusts all advice given to her by Pascal and often consults him.

Her artwork tends to be based around radial designs and surrealism.
